I have been busy working and changed clients and schedules, and not been online lately. My husband told me that he thought I was spending too much time online- but, it's no different than him sitting in front of the TV 24 hours a day. I only get online after work, and after everything is done for the night, and he is usually asleep or watching TV.
Anyway, I have a new client I am staying with, actually- more than one, I like this better- work is going very well. I am still losing weight, but- it has slowed down, but, that's alright- as long as I keep losing and don't gain any.
I have been talking to my sister, Holly, she and her husband just moved into their new place, they are unpacking and getting settled in. I wish she hadn't moved so far up the road though, it will now take me 45 minutes to drive up to her house to visit. But, they wanted to move out into the country and they bought 3 acres of land, so- I know they'll be happy. Baby Riley will be 1 year old on August 23rd, time sure does fly, she is growing so fast, and my nephew, Mason will be starting school this fall.
My daughter, Jenni is doing well, she is still liking her job out in Long Beach. She also has a birthday this month. Oh my...I'm feeling old LOL!!!-- My Jenni will be 26 years old this month!!! Her boyfriend, Victor is doing well also, he has a nice job now that he enjoys, and just got a raise. Victor has a birthday this month, too- we have several birthdays coming up this month.
My sister, Marcia and her family are doing well, my sister, Marcia and her daughter, Madison just got back from Band Camp, in Virginia, Madison had to go for a week, she is in the marching band for Trinity High School, and she's the one who plays the saxophone- my sister went as one of the shaperones (not spelled right), but they had a great time. Her husband, David took the same week off, to stay home with my nephew, Austin, and they just had a grand old time together, they went fishing, to the movies, out to eat, swimming at home, and just had a great dad and son week.
I only have to work 3 hours in the morning, then I'm off to my sister, Marcia's house to swim with her and the kids for the rest of the afternoon. I'm looking forward to having a nice afternoon with them.

"A Short Story About Prayer."

On a stormy day, with two experienced guides, a woman climbed the Weisshorn in the Swiss Alps. As they neared the peak, the woman- exhilarated by the view before her- sprang forward and was almost blown away by a gust of wind. One of the guides caught her and pulled her to the ground, saying, "On your knees, madam! You are safe here only on your knees."

We typically regard `on our knees' as the standard position for prayer, but talking to God isn't limited to any position. He can hear us...regardless.

Three Christian women were talking once about the `best' positions for prayer. One argued the importance of holding one's hands together and pointing them upward. The second advocated that prayer was best when one was stretched out on the floor. The third thought standing was better than kneeling. As they talked, a telephone repairman listened as he worked on a nearby phone system. Finally, he could contain himself no longer and interjected, " I have found that the most powerful prayer I ever made was while dangling upside down from a power pole, suspended 40 feet above the ground."

The important thing is not your position of prayer, but that you do pray!!!

"A Short Story About The Secret To Happiness"

Once , a young orphan girl, despondent and lonely, walked through a meadow and saw a small butterfly caught in a thorn bush. the more the butterfly struggled to free itself, the deeper the thorns cut into it's fragile body.
    Filled with compassion, the girl released the butterfly. But, instead of flying away, the butterfly transformed into an angel and said gently, "To reward you for your kindness, I will do whatever you like."
    The girl thought for a moment, then replied, "I want to be happy!"
    "Very well," the angel said. Then the heavenly creature leaned close to the girl and whispered something in her ear.
     Many years later, as the orphan lay on her deathbed after a full and happy life, her friends gathered around her. "Won't you tell us your secret now," they pleaded. With a labored smile, the woman answered,"An angel told me that no matter where I went in life, I would find people who needed me-- people rich or poor, young or old, meek or self assured-- and meeting those needs would bring me happiness and satisfaction."

Somewhere in your life there is someone who needs you. Are you willing to be an angel and meet that need?

Wednesday- July, 16th- Summertime, Busy And Fun!!!

Hello to all of my friends. I haven't been around lately online. I have been busy spending time with my niece and nephew, going swimming with them and hanging out with them before I go to work in the afternoons. this week, I've also been picking my niece up at noon from band camp, she is the one who plays in the marching band, and also plays the guitar and piano. I have been having a really good time, and my husband and I have been spending time together at night when I get home from work, we have been watching some movies and hanging out together. Yesterday was my baby sister's birthday, she was 35, and I had to work, but my sister, Marcia, had our baby sister, Holly and her 2 children over last night to swim and cook-out, and have birthday cake and ice cream, so that was good. I have a present for my baby sister, I'll give her as soon as I see her next Wednesday. I've gotten it all worked out and arranged with my work place, now I'll get every other Wednesday off- that's what my husband and I decided was best, that I needed at least one day off every two weeks, this will help a lot, because I want to continue to enjoy my job, and not end up burning out on it. My first Wednesday off was last week, and I went swimming and spent the day with my niece and nephew, and my sister got home from work at 2:30p.m. and she hopped in to, and we had a great time together, and then, I stopped off and picked up my husband and I something for dinner, and came home and spent a nice evening with him, what a wonderful day off!!! My daughter, Jenni is still out in Long Beach, she has a job now, she likes her job, she's doing well, she seems happy and I'm happy for her. I miss her though, she works late, and it's about midnight or later before she gets in (my time) so if I want to talk to her I have to stay up late, and I have started to try to go to bed earlier, so it makes it difficult for us to catch each other by phone. Works been going well, I'm still staying with the same person, at the same place, and I still enjoy it very much.
I guess that's about all that's been going on in my life. I hope you all are well, and I'll try to catch up on your blogs soon.

How and when do you reward yourself?

When I'm feeling absolutely burnt out and feel like I need some me time, I go to StarBucks, and get myself a nice Large Mocha Latte with whip cream on top with chocolate drizzled over it, and go to the park and sit and relax and enjoy the peace and quite. I do this about once a month.

What do you find interesting or unique about your family history?

On my dad's side of the family, we have a family store that has been run by our family for 50 years. My grandpa and grandma ran the store until they retired, then my uncle, my dad's brother, and his wife took over and have been running the store ever since, and still own and run it today, in Mt. Airy N.C. It's *Simmons Grocery*, and this store holds so many wonderful memories for me, because when I was a little girl, we lived in a house beside the store, and I would walk up to the store every day, and spend time there with my grandparents.
Now, I have memories, also of going and visiting my uncle and aunt at the store, I used to take my daughter up to visit a lot when she was young, and she has these fond memories, also.
I still enjoy going up to the store to visit my uncle and aunt at the family store, and as soon as I pull in the parking lot- the memories just fill my mind, and an over-whelming sense of love just fills my whole being. There has been so much laughter and joyous times, and days in that store- it's just a large piece of our family history.
